Where are your pickup and departure points?
Pick up and drop off is at Medway Bridge Marina. Other destinations can be accommodated but will incur an additional fee, such as Allington Lock, Sun Pier, MDL Marina in Chatham, and Gillingham Marina. Please contact us for further details.
What happens if the weather is not good?
We continually monitor the weather forecasts and if our Skippers think that a voyage is not permissible owing to adverse weather conditions then we will cancel the voyage. This decision is solely at the Skipper’s discretion. In such a circumstance we will either try and offer you an alternative date or provide you with a full refund.
What happens if I am late?
You can’t be. Mother Nature waits for no man (or woman) so neither can we. The Medway River is tidal and for some cruises, tardiness will affect whether the cruise can go ahead because of the tide times. If you are late then this will cut into your charter time and no refund will be provided.
Do you provide catering?
No. You are welcome to bring aboard whatever sustenance you need. You will have a small fridge, kettle, and a microwave at your disposal. We are happy to provide tea and coffee.
Is smoking allowed?
Smoking is strictly prohibited on this vessel as it is a fire safety risk. Vaping is permissible as long as it does not interfere with the comfort of other passengers and crew.
Do I need to be able to swim?
Although swimming is a good skill to have, you do not need to be able to swim for this experience. We have life jackets and all relevant safety equipment on board.
What kind of clothing should I wear?
Warm layers that are weather dependent, unless of course it is really exceptionally hot then cool clothing with a light jacket as sometimes it is deceptively cooler on the water than on land. We request that you pack as lightly as possible and include only items of absolute necessity as there is limited stowage on board.
What kind of shoes should I wear?
Please note that non-marking and flat rubber-soled shoes only are permitted on board. No high heels will be accepted. This is for your own comfort and safety, but it is also to prevent any damage to the boat because she is a sensitive soul and inappropriate footwear will leave its mark on her.
Should I be sun safe?
There is a shade canopy on board Carole Ann, and an internal space if you need some respite from the sun, however it is not uncommon to get sunburnt just from the glare off the water. For that reason sunscreen is recommended even during the cooler months, and mandatory during the summer period.
Are there toilet facilities on board?
Yes there are toilet facilities on board.
Do you offer concessions?
Unfortunately not because of the high maintenance and running costs of the boat.
Do you have wheelchair access?
We sincerely apologise but unfortunately there is no wheelchair access for this experience.
Do you take children?
Unfortunately no. We only take those who are over 16 years of age.
What are your payment terms?
Please contact us for terms and conditions related to chartered skipper bookings.
